When this sweet girl’s mom came to me to talk about her 1-year cake smash, she had a great vision for the set; a Cincinnati skyline featuring Godzilla as the baby. So fun!!

I love when clients come to me with super unique ideas for their cake smash session. When Mom booked this session I was over the moon excited about the theme: Godzilla Takes Over Cincinnati. I immediately contacted my favorite bakery, Tres Belle Cakes to create the perfect cake! Then scoured Etsy for the perfect Godzilla outfit to fit the color scheme. Once those items were lined up, I worked with a local artist to sketch the perfect Cincinnati Skyline, comic book style! I love how everything came together!

This sweet girl did not disappoint and kept with the theme. She went straight to destroying the cake like a little Godzilla.

My favorite moment was when she went head first into the cake!

After every smash, we wrap up with a nice warm bubble bath. This tiny Godzilla could not be contained ha! She had the best time splashing and making a giant mess.

Happy First Birthday, Titus!

I am getting to the point in my career as a Cincinnati Cake Smash photographer that I am starting to photograph my littlest clients siblings. And boy do I love it!

I first met sweet Titus while he was still a baby in his Momma’s belly during his big sisters cake smash session a little over a year ago.  He was just a few weeks away from making his appearance into this world for the first time. My goodness has he grown into an adorable toddler!

Titus’ Mom had the idea to go with a fishing theme for his cake smash. This was a totally new theme for me as a Cincinnati Cake Smash photographer and I was excited to come up with something really awesome!

I did what any good creative does and headed out to look for some inspiration. First I hit up Pinterest and found a few cute ideas but nothing that screamed, UNIQUE. So, my next stop was to the fishing isle of my local Meijer and then to Michaels.

I am not a fisher. I haven’t fished since I was a little girl with my grandparents on our annual camping trips so it took me a minute to remember what all went into that. Once I got going, I think I came up with some really cute touches to the set.

My kids helped paint two giant fishing bobbers we made out of paper lanterns. We added a giant fishing net to the floor with some small fishing bobbers from our local hardware store. I then strung fairy lights to mimic fireflies that you might see near the docks and added a old wood fishing dock prop.

Titus’ Mom made the perfect cake to match our vision for the session. Look for yourself, below.

Happy First Birthday, Anne Marie!

As a Cincinnati Cake Smash Photographer, one of my favorite parts of my job is watching these beautiful babies grow!

It seems like just yesterday that I had sweet baby Anne Marie in the studio for her Newborn Photography Session.

Last weekend I had the great honor of capturing her Cake Smash Session. And my how she’s grown!

Anne Marie was a little apprehensive to smash her cake at first, which is pretty typical. She began by poking at the cake and crawling away. We were a little worried she wasn’t going to smash the cake at all! 

But soon she settled right in. She took a few nibbles, then decided to pick up and THROW the entire cake! As you can see in the highlight video below, her cake smash was nothing short of EPIC <3

And here at Heather Elizabeth Studios, we like to wrap up each Cake Smash Session with a warm bubble bath in our little claw foot tub. This part of the session is always a favorite and results in the most adorable images!

This weekend I had the great honor of capturing Hadley’s first birthday, Cake Smash Session. And my how cute she is!

I don’t shoot many senior sessions but when I do, I remember how much I love being a Cincinnati Senior photographer. Bailey is a senior at Milford High School and she loves animals. Especially her sweet dog!

Not only is Bailey sweet and beautiful, she was a natural model & a dream to photograph. She’s so naturally photogenic and is just so stunning my job was a breeze. Thanks for trusting me to capture such a important milestone in your life. I know you are going to do amazing things in the future!

Fall family photo season is officially in full swing! I couldn’t image a better way to kick it off than with one of my very favorite families! The unseasonably warm weather had us all but melting during our session at Sharon woods but you’d never know it looking at this gorgeous family. Max’s energy had us all smiling the entire session and his sweet little expressions had my heart melting into a puddle. Watching kids grow up year to year has to be the best part about this job. First Birthday sessions are some of my favorite. There’s not much better than a smiling baby who has just learned to walk toddling through the park at sunrise. Pair that with two smitten parents and I am swooning. When I arrived for Elias’s session at the Voice of America Park, I noticed they were setting up for the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s and got really nervous about all the people and having to Photoshop out tons of people from the background of my images. But each and every person was so kind not to photobomb my pictures and several even offered up their dogs to help get some smiles from Elias.  Overall, perfect, perfect morning!  Thank you so much Amy & Alex for trusting me to capture Elias’s First Birthday.
