Happy First Birthday, Anne Marie!

As a Cincinnati Cake Smash Photographer, one of my favorite parts of my job is watching these beautiful babies grow!

It seems like just yesterday that I had sweet baby Anne Marie in the studio for her Newborn Photography Session.

Last weekend I had the great honor of capturing her Cake Smash Session. And my how she’s grown!

Anne Marie was a little apprehensive to smash her cake at first, which is pretty typical. She began by poking at the cake and crawling away. We were a little worried she wasn’t going to smash the cake at all! 

But soon she settled right in. She took a few nibbles, then decided to pick up and THROW the entire cake! As you can see in the highlight video below, her cake smash was nothing short of EPIC <3

And here at Heather Elizabeth Studios, we like to wrap up each Cake Smash Session with a warm bubble bath in our little claw foot tub. This part of the session is always a favorite and results in the most adorable images!

Happy Birthday, Hadley!

As a Cincinnati, Ohio Cake Smash Photographer, one of my favorite parts of my job is celebrating milestones with families, especially first birthdays!

This weekend I had the great honor of capturing Hadley’s first birthday, Cake Smash Session. And my how cute she is!

 

Hadley was a little apprehensive to smash her cake at first, as this is not something of the norm. She began by delicately sticking one finger at a time in the back of the cake…. It was quite cute.

But soon she settled right in. She took a few nibbles, then decided to pick up a big chunk of the cake!

And what’s a first birthday cake smash session without a bubble bath to clean up afterwards?

Introducing Avery

Being a Cincinnati, Newborn Photographer comes with certain perks! I am usually one of the first people contacted when families announce the birth of their child! So let me start by saying, a big congratulations to Jessica and Colin on the birth of their sweet baby girl, Avery! She was born on March 23rd weighing 5lbs 8oz.

One of the best parts about being a Cincinnati, Newborn Photographer is meeting new families. I had the pleasure of hosting this beautiful family at my studio in Cincinnati last week. Avery was exactly 15 days old when we met, just perfect for the sleepy and snugly newborn photography poses. Her sweet and gentle nature made this session so much fun to work on!

All too often, parents stay tucked behind the camera doing their best to capture memories of their little ones as they grow. While this is better than not having any photos at all, it seems like someone is constantly left out.

This stage is so very short that I always encourage both mom and dad to be in a few of the photos during our Cincinnati Newborn Photography sessions. This gives me the opportunity to capture images of everyone together and create keepsakes that the family will cherish forever.

One of the most memorable moments during Avery’s session was when the proud big sister joined the photos. We’d been planning these pictures for weeks and I love how they turned out!

The love Jessica has for her daughter just poured out of her. Everyone talks about the glow that expecting mothers have while pregnant, but this mama was glowing like crazy with the baby in her arms – exuding grace and admiration as she held sweet Avery.

Newborn photography is my passion and I am so thankful for every opportunity to work with the sweet babies of Cincinnati, Ohio. Being a Cincinnati, Newborn Photographer is the best job ever! I love watching them grow and look forward to the milestones, cake smash, and family photo sessions to come!

Meet Elliott

Awwwwwww, look at this sweet girl! Being a Cincinnati Baby Photographer is something I love. I couldn’t wait to blog this sweet 6-month portrait session.

I first spoke with Elliot’s Mom 2 days before their session. Due to sickness and scheduling issues, they weren’t able to get Elliott’s pictures taken when they had planned and it was super important to Mom to get these pictures in before her sweet girl turned 7 months.  My schedule happened to have a last minute session available so it worked out perfectly.

Meeting an amazing new family and capture some timeless images of their sweet daughter is why I love being a Cincinnati Baby Photographer. Elliott is just the most photogenic 6 months old. I love this session because of how simple it is – and of course, the adorable family. This photography session is classic and clean and will stand the test of time.

Six month old Elliott couldn’t be more adorable in her simple cream and pink outfit and white diaper cover. I love how in every image you can see little glimpses into Elliott’s personality. Those bright blue eyes and long eyelashes were mesmerizing . You can see how fascinated she is with sitting up on her own – one of the many milestones during the first year.

Oh sweet Elliot, you are simply adorable! Thank you for coming to see me last week! And Tracy, thank you for trusting me to capture such a fun milestone for your daughter and choosing me to be your Cincinnati Baby Photographer.

Nothing is more fun than a First Birthday Cake Smash, especially one with a super expressive, adorable little boy! We treated this little guy to the most amazing first birthday cake smash with a white, teal and grey set, and an beautiful delicious cake from 3 Sweet Girls Cakery in Cincinnati!

Joe’s grey and teal cake smash session was so much fun! Mom contacted me a few months about setting this session up and it came together perfectly. Joe was a absolute dream and made some of the cutest faces imaginable while eating his cake and splashing in the tub.

First Birthday sessions are some of my favorite. There’s not much better than a smiling baby who has just learned to walk toddling through the park at sunrise. Pair that with two smitten parents and I am swooning. When I arrived for Elias’s session at the Voice of America Park, I noticed they were setting up for the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s and got really nervous about all the people and having to Photoshop out tons of people from the background of my images. But each and every person was so kind not to photobomb my pictures and several even offered up their dogs to help get some smiles from Elias.  Overall, perfect, perfect morning!  Thank you so much Amy & Alex for trusting me to capture Elias’s First Birthday. Cole’s newborn sessions was so sweet and big sister Anna just made my heart melt. I have been photographing this sweet family since their daughter Anna was just a few days old and if you remember, I just photographed her 2nd Birthday session a few weeks before her baby brother arrived. I am so fortunate this sweet little family has decided to allow me to capture another one of their children’s first year with the Watch Me Grow package. I was so excited to shoot Charlotte’s newborn portraits. When I met Sarah and Casey for their maternity session, they were just so wonderful and super excited to become parents so I knew going in these pictures were going to be amazing. I love when families book the Bumps to Babies package because it gives us time to get to know each other, develop a bit of a bond, and chit chat about what the nursery is going to look like, and just become friends. Then when the newborn session rolls around its like meeting an old friend for coffee

When Sarah mentioned that they were doing Charlotte’s nursery in a woodland theme I may have squealed a little because I have had this beautiful woodland themed set up for months that I was just dyyiinngg to use!

It sounds so cliche but, I really can’t believe my baby just turned one! Samuel’s Cake Smash is something I have been thinking about since I was pregnant with him. Since I plan so many cake smash sessions for other Cincinnati Mom’s coming up with something original was a struggle. My husband and I went back and forth on so many different ideas and decided that one of the advantages of owning your own studio is that I could do as many different sessions as I wanted for his birthday and not have to settle on just one theme. So, when I found this amazing Max costume from Pottery Barn Kids, I was completely sold on a Where the Wild Things Are cake smash session. Since I had recently done a Where the Wild Things Are cake smash session for another family, I already owned the backdrop, wood slice cake stand, and paper for the floor. So, the only thing left was the poofs that my 4 year old and I made together using a Pinterest tutorial and ordering the cake from a custom baker here in Cincinnati. I’m in love with the results and even more impressed my son tolerated wearing the costume throughout the entire session! I hope you love this as much as I do. Stay tuned for round two of birthday pictures coming this weekend 🙂 Consider yourself warned hahahaha
